Mazda Factory OBD-II DTC P0069 Code

 

DTC P0069 MAP sensor and BARO sensor signal correlation error
DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors MAP sensor signal voltage at PCM terminal 234 and barometric pressure at PCM internal BARO sensor. If these signals are not plausible, the PCM determines the MAP sensor and BARO sensor correlation error.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  MAP sensor malfunction
•  BARO sensor (built-into PCM) malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
•  Has the FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related service repair information availability.
•  Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA
•  Is P0236, P0237 or P0238 on FREEZE FRAME DATA?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

CLASSIFY MALFUNCTION AS MAP SENSOR OR ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE SENSOR MALFUNCTION
•  Connect the M-MDS to DLC.
•  Access BARO and MAP PIDs.
•  Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
•  Compare the barometer with each PID.
•  Do the PID indications equal the barometer indication?
Yes
Go to Step 6.
No
If the MAP PID is not equal to the barometer”s indication:
Go to the next step.
If the BARO PID is not equal to the barometer”s indication:
Replace the PCM, then go to Step 6

INSPECT MAP SENSOR
•  Perform MAP sensor inspection.
•  Is MAP sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace MAP sensor, then go to the next step.
6
VERIFY THAT DTC P0069 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
•  Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Start the engine and warm-up to normal operating
•  Retrieve the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Is the PENDING CODE same DTC present?
Yes
Replace PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform “After Repair Procedure”.
•  Is there any DTC present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
