This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician that vehicles may have an Antilock Braking System or Malfunction Indicator Lamp illuminated. Also Low Brake Fluid lamp on with the master cylinder fluid level is full or a Service Trailer Brake message on the Driver Information Center. Technician may find codes C0035, C0040, C0045, C0050, C0055, C0267, U0121, U0415 or U0420. Technician will need to inspect the Electronic Brake Control Module connector for water intrusion or corrosion on the terminals. If either is found, replace the EBCM and replace the affected terminals. Also remove the tape from the conduit leading to G400 between the main harness and the ground lug.

Technician may find a Diagnostic Trouble Code C0040 and or C0035 symptom 18 or 0F set in the Electronic Brake Control Module. Technician will need to remove and inspect the effected wheel speed sensor form the knuckle. Technician will replace the hub bearing washer if there is evidence that the tip of the wheel speed sensor has been rubbing.
