This Technical bulletin provides information on new software for the ECM due to DTC P228D causing the MIL to illuminate.

This Preliminary information communicatesvehicle may come in with DTC P228D (Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Performance - High Pressure) set current or history. A fault with the fuel rail pressure sensor.Do not replace the Engine’s High Pressure Pump. Butrecommended to replace the Fuel Rail Pressure sensor.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have Diagnostic Trouble Code P228D. Technician should replace the Fuel Rail Pressure sensor not the High Pressure Pump.
