Manufacturer summary
Original wording in English
Some 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with an 8F24, 8F35 or 8F40 transmission may exhibit an unable to engage park condition with an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) lamp and diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P07E4 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. There will also be a shift system fault warning message displayed and the electronic parking brake will be automatically applied when park is requested. This condition may be caused by an incorrect underhood section of the transmission park manual release cable or due to the underhood section of the transmission park manual release cable not in the proper stowed position. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to inspect the operation of the transmission park manual release cable and if necessary, replace the transmission park manual release cable.
NHTSA manufacturer communications ↗Repeated filings are grouped only when make, bulletin number, publication date and complete summary agree. Original record numbers are retained. Older publications remain available, and an explicit later version is shown when established. Pre-1994 vehicle associations are separated from default results; an unspecified year does not mean all model years apply.
