Some 2015-2018 Transit vehicles built on or before 24-Jul-2018 may exhibit various drivability concerns including difficulty starting, misfires and/or an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P00BD, P1247, P1548, P061B, P2195, P2198, P2196, P2197, P0171, P0172, P0174, P0175, P0131 and/or P162F stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to undesired water entry into the engine compartment directly over powertrain components. To resolve this condition, install updated water management hardware and/or a revised air cleaner cover.

TT: The current engine active test Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning…

Some vehicles may experience a check engine light on with DTC P0172:00 stored in the PCM memory. This normally occurs during the fast idle immediately after starting the engine or after the fast idle lowers to a normal idle. DTC P0172:00 - Fuel trim system too rich. Due to improper PCM control logic, the fuel injection amount may be improperly compensated when the engine start is not smooth and due to low quality fuel.
