This DTC may erroneously be displayed when the fault is related to DTC P14502A ? Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor Signal Stuck in Range. The Engine Control Model (ECM) (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) logic has been modified so DTC P24517F will not be erroneously detected. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address these conditions.

This may be due to a kinked evaporator emissions fresh air vent line. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to attach a zip tie to the fresh air vent line.

When performing pinpoint test (PPT) HX in the Powertrain Controls and Emission Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for the referenced DTCs, incorrect results may be obtained due to an internal powertrain control module (PCM) software conflict. This may be due to the sealing capability of the canister purge valve. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to update the PCM software and replace the canister purge valve.

Some 2017 Escape and MKC vehicles equipped with a 1.5L, 2.0L or 2.3L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0455, P0456, P144C and/or P1450 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Vehicles may also exhibit a rough idle and/or slow fuel fill concern. If normal diagnosis leads to the replacement of the canister purge valve then inspect for the presence of liquid fuel in the vapor lines at the EVAP canister purge valve and the EVAP canister. Liquid fuel should not be present in the EVAP canister purge valve, EVAP canister or any of the vapor lines. Engineering is investigating this concern. Monitor OASIS for updates.
