The 14290 harness directly above the steering shaft u-joint near the upper brake pedal mount may come in contact with the steering shaft. Rotation of the steering wheel will trigger the short circuit. Inspect the harness for damage at that location and repair as necessary. If damage was found, move the harness away from the steering shaft U-joint area and secure the harness. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 005.

There may also be an intermittent brief deceleration when cruise control is enabled. This may be due to software in the PCM. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.

Some 2019-2020 Edge/Escape/Nautilus/Corsair vehicles equipped with 2.0L EcoBoost engines may exhibit low coolant, white smoke from the tailpipe, an over temperature warning in the instrument panel cluster (IPC), external coolant leaking, and/or illuminated MIL with DTCs P0217, P0401, P1026, P1285, P1299, P2196 or P2467 stored in the PCM. This may be due to an EGR Cooler that is leaking coolant into the engine intake and exhaust system. The EGR cooler should be inspected first to detect the presence of any internal leaks by a visual inspection and a pressure test as defined in the Workshop Manual (WSM). This bulletin announces reprogramming file availability to optimize the ECM. These new files involve the ECM?s diagnosis of DTC P0045: TURBOCHARGER / SUPERCHARGER BOOST CONTROL ?A? CIRCUIT OPEN and DTC P2196: A/F O2 SENSOR SIGNAL BIASED / STUCK RICH BANK 1 SENSOR 1. For P0045, in some cases, an engine RPM drop may occur when selecting D or R range too quickly following ignition on and before the engine reaches full operation during the ECM?s initial control of the waste gate valve. Should this occur P0045 may set the next time the engine is started. For P2196, if the driver "snaps" the throttle open and shut rapidly, normal judgement of the A/F sensor data may be inaccurate and cause the code to be detected in error.
