Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U029D, U029E, U02A1, U02A3, P2209, P24D0, P22A7, and/or P23B5. This may be due to a wiring chafe on harness 14406 near connector C146 touching the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler on the right side of the engine. Before performing normal diagnostics, inspect 20 amp fuse F18 (position 26). If fuse F18 is found open, inspect the 14406 harness for contact with the EGR cooler and repair as necessary. Refer to Wiring Diagram, Cell 005 for repair procedures. If no damage is found, refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-08A for normal diagnostics.

Some 2017-2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine built on or before 10-Jun-2020 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U029D, U029E, P22A7 and/or P2209 in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to water intrusion into the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) connectors. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to inspect the NOx sensor module and replace the 14406 wire harness.

Flash: 6.7L Diagnostic And System Improvements This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM) with new software. Several software improvements are available for vehicles equipped with a Cummins 6.7L turbo Diesel. NOTE: There will be a choice between 2 calibrations. One for vehicles that utilize an ammonia sensor and one for vehicles that have had the ammonia sensor removed. Be sure to select the correct software based on vehicle configuration. Prevent or reduce Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination when no defect is present for the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). These faults have been changed from a one trip fault to a two trip fault: · P0201 - P0206 - Fuel Injector X Circuit/Open Fault Codes. · P049D - Exhaust Gas…
