Some 2020-2021 Escape vehicles may exhibit various symptoms due to a loss of voltage reference (VREF) from the 14290 harness above the steering shaft u-joint. Possible symptoms may include an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL),runs rough, fuse 44 open and may or may not set DTCs P06A7, P0840, P0842, P0845, P0847, P2122, P2127, P0522, P008A, P06A6, P2196, P0192, P0369, P0212, P0340, P0344, P0365, P0532,P0504, P07E4, P06E9, P0369, C175E, C175B, C2302, and/or C0040. Inspect the 14290 harness directly above the steering shaft u-joint near the upper brake pedal mount that may come in contact with the steering shaft. Rotation of the steering wheel may cause the short circuit. If damage is found, repair as necessary and move the harness away from the steering shaft U-joint area and…

Some 2020-2021 Escape vehicles may exhibit a loss of voltage reference (VREF) or runs rough, blow fuse 44 and may or may not set DTC's P06A7,P0840,P0842,P0845,P0847,P2122,P2127,P0522,P008A,P06A6,P2196,P0192, P0212,P0340,P0344,P0365,P0532,P06E9,P0369,C175E,C175B,C2302,P0369. The 14290 harness directly above the steering shaft u-joint near the upper brake pedal mount may come in contact with the steering shaft. Rotation of the steering wheel will trigger the short circuit. Inspect the harness for damage at that location and repair as necessary. If damage was found, move the harness away from the steering shaft U-joint area and secure the harness. Refer to Wiring Diagram Cell 005.

Some 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 3.3L engine built on or before 7-May-2018 at Dearborn Assembly Plant or on or before 31-May-2018 at Kansas City Assembly Plant may exhibit an illuminated MIL and/or runs rough condition with DTC P0192 and/or P0193. Various other DTCs may be set. This may be due to engine harness chaffing at the right cylinder head near connector C1056 at the cylinder head core plug boss. The connector will need to be removed from the retainer to inspect the back side of the harness for any damage. Repair as necessary. Make sure to wrap the exposed wiring with Rotunda Coroplast Electrical Wire Harness Tape (RTTP part number NAI837X or equivalent) and reposition the harness to prevent future chaffing concerns. For claiming, use causal part 12A581 and applicable labor…

Some customers may experience a lack of power with no warning lights illuminated and no related DTCs stored. This concern most likely occurs when the fuel temperature is high and during situations where high power is required. This concern may be caused when the learning value for the low pressure fuel pump exceeds a certain level and the PCM limits engine power to avoid a lack of fuel injection. Even if the low pressure fuel pump has a problem, no DTCs are stored. To eliminate this concern, the PCM control logic has been modified not to limit engine power. After this modification, DTCs P0192:00 or P0087:00 are stored when the fuel injection amount is insufficient. P0192:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit low input P0087:00 - High fuel pressure sensor circuit range/performance problem.
