"FLASH: POWERTRAIN DIAGNOSTIC AND SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS THIS BULLETIN INVOLVES REPROGRAMMING THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) WITH THE LATEST AVAILABLE SOFTWARE. CUSTOMERS MAY EXPERIENCE A MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ILLUMINATION. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION THE TECHNICIAN MAY FIND THAT THE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) HAS BEEN SET: · P0335 - CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT. THE FOLLOWING PCM SOFTWARE IMPROVEMENTS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE: · IMPROVED VACUUM SENSOR DIAGNOSIS FOR THE HYDRAULIC BOOSTER COMPENSATION (HBC) FEATURE IN THE ELECTRONIC SUSPENSION CONTROL (ESC) MODULE. · SOFTWARE TO ENABLE VEHICLE MAX SPEED PROGRAMMING USING WITECH."

A small number of customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set in the PCM memory: · P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit. · P0456 - EVAP System Small Leak. · P2610 - PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance.
