A sticking fuel cut valve may result in the following DTC?s (diagnostic trouble codes) setting: 1. If DTC P0005 (fuel cut valve stuck closed) sets in the engine ECU, replace the fuel cut valve with the part number listed below. 2. If DTC P20DE (pressure sensor performance invalid) or DTC P20DF (pressure sensor signal too low) set in the engine ECU, this could be a result of the fuel cut valve sticking. Follow the workshop manual diagnostic procedure in section 4 of the Hino Workshop Manual (J05E Engine Control System) for the DTC. Fuel contalmination can be defined as the presence of water, rust, algae, bacteria, poor quality fuel, or any other substance other than ultra-low sulfur fuel in the fuel system. Fuel tank corrosion is a result of contamination and is NOT considered a manufacturer's defect. Malfunctions that result from fuel contamination are NOT warrantable failures. Contamination can restrict flow to the aftertreatment dosing injector (5th or 7th injector) resulting in DTC's P20DE, P20DE and/or P20DF. 2015 through 2017 model year conventional trucks also have a fuel filter within the bubble separator.
