If Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics lead to turbocharger variable vane actuator replacement, service part LC3Z-9G488-B has been released for service. Replacement of the turbocharger assembly is no longer required. When performing the VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) Valve reset, make sure that engine coolant temperature (ECT) is at least 158° F (70° C).

This may be due to various strategies within the PCM software. To resolve this condition, update the PCM software and perform a diesel particulate filter (DPF) manual regeneration and, if necessary, a DPF parameter reset according to the Service Procedure.

IF FREEZE FRAME DATA INDICATES THE DTC OCCURRED WHEN ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) WAS BELOW 10 DEGREES C (50 DEGREES F) AND UNDER 3 MINUTES OF ENGINE RUN TIME, CLEAR THE DTC AND PERFORM A KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) SELF TEST USING THE INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM (IDS) OR EQUIVALENT SCAN TOOL. IF NO TURBOCHARGER AND CHARGE AIR COOLER (CAC) SYSTEM DTCS RETURN DURING KOER SELF TEST, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY REPAIRS AT THIS TIME AND RELEASE THE VEHICLE. ENGINEERING IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THIS CONCERN, MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES REGARDING LATEST INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSTIC DIRECTION.
