Some 2016-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 vehicles equipped with 6.7L engine may exhibit a concern where the engine cooling fan stays on at all times or is inoperative. Diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0480, P0494, P0495, P0529, P0691, P0692, P0693 and/or P0694 may be stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). To address these vehicle symptoms, use the updated online version of pinpoint test AH in the powertrain control/emission diagnostic (PC/ED) tab on the PTS website. The pinpoint test has been updated to aid in preventing unnecessary fan clutch replacement.

Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0480, P0691, P0692, or P1258 may be set. Technician will use a scan tool to active the fan. If the electric cooling fan stops working then replace the Cooling Fan Control Module.
