Unlike most OBD-II cars and light trucks, the Chevrolet does not require a scan tool to access the trouble codes stored in the on-board computer. The diagnostic functions of the computer in the Corvette can be accessed through the driver’s information center, allowing you to retrieve and clear any stored trouble codes. This function will allow you to reset the check engine light after repairs are made as well. Most home mechanics can perform this procedure in just a few minutes.
Instructions
-
- Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position but do not start the engine. Press the “RESET” button to turn off any warning messages that may be displayed on the driver information center.
