Engine Control Module (ECM) Reprogram California Voluntary Emission Service Campaign ***** Campaign Summary ***** INFINITI is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Service Campaign on approximately 49,497 specific INFINITI vehicles identified in Service Comm and currently registered to owners in the state of California to reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) in the event that a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) for P0448, P0101, P2008, or P0087 is recorded in the ECM. Due to calibration errors on the affected vehicles, the ECM may improperly store a permanent diagnostic trouble code (P-DTC) even though the emissions on-board diagnostic system is functioning properly. MIL ON WITH DTC P0087, P0101, P0448, OR P2008 IF YOU CONFIRM An applied vehicle has one or more DTCs stored, shown in Table A on page 2, AND The ECM part number is shown in Table B, starting on page 3. ACTION 1. First perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure for the stored DTC to repair the vehicle according to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM). 2. Reprogram the ECM after performing the diagnosis and repair. ï‚· -The ECM reprogram in this Service Procedure is not a repair for the DTC, but instead updates the way the permanent DTC is stored and allowed to be erased. The DTC must be properly diagnosed and repaired before the reprogram is applied.

IMPORTANT: Before any parts are removed from the vehicle, note the EVAP filter orientation and hose routing (take a photo). Hose routing and EVAP filter orientation is critical and varies depending on production date.
