This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on and a reduced engine power after cold starting their engine when the ambient temperature is approximately ? 10 Fahrenheit (-23 Celsius). Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P1516, P2101, P2119, and/or P2176. Technician may find some vehicles may have an oil leak from the front or rear crank seal, cam cover gasket, or dipstick tube as well. Technician will need to determine if the concern is the result of a frozen positive crankcase ventilation system.
