• Engine malfunction (low compression or excessive friction loss)
• Fuel limiter malfunction
• Fuel supply pump malfunction
• PCM malfunction

• Verify related service repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?

Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.

IDENTIFY TRIGGER DTC FOR FREEZE FRAME DATA
• Is P1145 on FREEZE FRAME DATA?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No

Go to the next step.

INSPECT FUEL LINE
• Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
• Inspect for leakage or clogging in the following fuel lines for each cylinder.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the suspected fuel line, then go to Step 10.

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT FUEL METERING CONTROL VALVE
• Inspect the fuel metering control valve.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Replace the fuel supply pump, then go to Step 10.

INSPECT FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect the fuel pressure sensor.
• Is there any malfunction?

• Inspect the fuel injector.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

• Inspect the turbo charging system operation.
• Does the turbo charging system operate properly?

INSPECT ENGINE COMPRESSION
• Measure the engine compression.
• Is the engine compression correct?

Yes

Inspect for the following:
• Fuel supply pump
• Fuel pressure limiter
• Engine friction loss
If malfunction is appeared, replace the suspected part.
Then go to the next step.
If it is normal, go to the next step.

Inspect for the following:
• Damaged valve sheet
• Worn valve stem and valve guide
• Worn or stuck piston ring
• Worn piston or cylinder
• Improper valve timing
If malfunction is appeared, replace the suspected part.
Then go to the next step.
If it is normal, go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT DTC P1145 TROUBLESHOOTING IS COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine and warm-up to normal operating temperature.
• Run the vehicle under the FREEZE FRAME DATA stored condition.
• Retrieve the DTC using the M-MDS.
• Is the PENDING CODE same DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the after repair procedure.
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
