Some 2020-2021 Explorer/Aviator/Escape/Corsair, 2021-2022 Bronco Sport, and 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit an inoperative driver door window control switch (windows inoperative, mirror control unresponsive, etc.). Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1088:87 may be present in the driver door module (DDM). This may be due to the software in the DDM. To correct the condition, reprogram the DDM with the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). After reprogramming the DDM, run the DDM configuration application and perform a window learn routine via FDRS. For claiming, use causal part 14B291 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

Some 2020-2021 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit an inoperative driver switchpack (windows inop, mirror control unresponsive, etc.). DTC B1088:87 may be present in the DDM. To correct the condition perform the Driver Door Module (DDM) configuration application using the Ford diagnostic scan tool. After running the configuration application, perform a window learn routine via the ford diagnostic scan tool. The condition can also be resolved by letting the vehicle enter a deep sleep cycle. Engineering is currently investigating this concern and will be releasing a service fix. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. Some 2019 MKC vehicles built on 23-Jul-2018 and through 07-Nov-2018 may exhibit intermittent function of the power mirrors and/or power windows from the master switch. These symptoms may also be present with or without diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1087 and/or B1088 stored in the driver door module (DDM) and/or passenger door module (PDM). This may be the result of a small impression in the left B-pillar sheet metal which has allowed water to overcome the sealing capability of the electrical harness grommet and enter connector C315. To resolve this concern, remove all moisture from the connector, apply electrical grease and seal the B-pillar wiring harness grommet to the left B-pillar sheet metal.
