Leaf springs support and maintain vehicle ride height on the axle where they are mounted. They also allow the axle to move up and down while helping to position the vertical center line of the wheels. Leaf springs are often used where extra load carrying capabilities are required.
Failure:
- Suspension may make a knocking noise when going over bumps
- Vehicle ride height is low
