This may be due to a low battery voltage event or a fully discharged battery. To correct this condition, inspect the charging system and correct the low battery voltage event. Some 2019 Transit Connect vehicles built on or after 28-May-2018 may experience a lack of power steering assist or a power steering fault message in the message center. It is important to avoid cycling the ignition switch. Charge the battery and remove the vehicle from transportation mode. If diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) U3003 and U2011 are stored, attempt to recover the PSCM by performing module programming. If the vehicle has DTCs U3003, U3000, U2011 and the PSCM will not communicate with the diagnostic scan tool, replace the PSCM.

This is just a message and steering assistance is not affected. The condition could occur during start/stop activations. The DTC indicate that one of the internal switches in the BCSM may be in the wrong position when cranking (during start/stop) and it could result in symptom similar to poor main battery state of charge (SOC).

Some 2016 Model Year Fusion, MKZ and C-MAX Hybrid Electric Vehicles(HEV) vehicles equipped with 2.0L DOHC Gas/Electric engines may exhibit MIL On with Diagnostic Trouble Code P0137(O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) in Powertrain Control Module(PCM) memory and U3003 (Battery Voltage) in Battery Energy Control Module(BECM) memory due to low battery voltage. Perform Battery diagnostic tests referenced in Workshop Manual Section 414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables-Diagnosis and Testing. After repairs for low voltage concern are repaired, clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If DTC P0137 and U3003 do not repeat return vehicle to the Customer. If DTC P0137 repeats perform Powertrain Control and Emissions Manual(PCED) diagnostic DW. Engineering is currently investigating this concern.
