待定碼、確認碼與永久碼

待定碼可能表示初次監測失敗；確認碼已符合模組確認條件。支援永久排放故障碼的車輛通常需要相關監測確認修復後自行清除，不能只靠掃描器清碼。條件因車輛與地區而異。儲存的碼不代表故障現在仍存在。

更換零件之前

記錄故障碼與凍結資料，檢查電瓶狀態、相關故障碼和可見線束或軟管損傷。依該車診斷程序與測試結果決定維修，避免僅憑故障碼換件。

    California Smog Check reference: supported permanent DTCs survive scan-tool clearing and battery disconnection and are removed by the OBD system after verification. Model-year support and inspection exceptions are California-specific; this guide does not prescribe those local pass/fail limits.
