Some customers may complain that the heater does not work properly and that a warning about a hybrid abnormality appears on the Instrument Cluster. Upon inspection, the vehicle may have DTC P0AA6:00 (High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance) stored in memory. This is caused by an inappropriate casting method of the water heater during the manufacturing process. To eliminate this concern, the casting method for the aluminum heat sink has been modified from low-pressure to high pressure casting and a seal has been added to the sheath pipe opening in the circuit board compartment.

CX-90 MHEV Battery: Mazda is currently experiencing many backorders on MHEV Batteries (K6Y8-67-ZBXD). The issue causing most of the concerns is a cell imbalance inside the MHEV battery, which sets DTC P0DAB. The repair solution for this concern is to perform the software reflash and replace the battery as required. Inspect the right side frame rail area near the bank 1 charge air cooler (CAC) intake pipe clamp for chafing the orange high voltage harness. If the harness is damaged, de-energize high voltage system per Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 414-03A. Reposition the clamp and replace the high voltage harness (14290).
