Some 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles equipped with a 5.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0300 through P0308 present. A noticeable misfire may or may not accompany these DTCs. If normal diagnostics do not lead to a root cause for this concern, remove the intake manifold from the vehicle and verify the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) plates move when the IMRC actuators are moved by hand. These plates are visible through the outlet ports of the intake manifold. If the IMRC plates do not move when the IMRC actuators are moved by hand, the intake manifold should be replaced. For claiming, use causal part 9424 and applicable labor operations in Section 9 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

This concern may be due to spark plug fuel fouling during cold starts in temperatures below 50Å?F (10Å?C). The PCM software update improves cold weather fueling strategies. Note: E85 fuel usage can contribute to poor starts, drivability concerns or inability to start the engine. Refer to the Owners Manual for E85 fuel usage guidelines. Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
